Casio G-Shock Gulfman Watch As usual Casio has created a product that will withstand the rigors of life. The watch is better than ever, with solar power supplementing the battery. As I have an allergy to metals, the rust resistant Titanium backing was an uncertainty for me, but it would seem that the metal does not exacerbate this condition. The face is easy to read and the ability to set conditions such as the amount of time the backlight stays on and the power save feature have yet again convinced me that this is the ONLY watch for me. It is rugged, and I don't have to worry about damaging it as I go about my day to day business in both my work environment or my active recreational lifestyle. I purchased my last G-Shock 15 years ago and it is still going strong, but due to my reaction to metals, I modified the band and wear it on my belt, mostly for work. It is a refreshing change that I can wear this stylish watch on my wrist and I fully expect it to last as long or longer. G-Shock does it again!
Great watch! I received this watch today. Thank you Amazon for fast shipping (lousy packing, but the neither watch box nor watch itself was hurt). Perfectly comfortable. Easy instructions. Great functionality. All-around delighted by this great looking timepiece. I've been wearing it and playing with it since it arrived about 5 hours ago (I should have spent more time actually working...), and having gone through all the functions and settings, I have found no (ZERO) negatives. Highest recommendations. Update... Day 2. I wore the watch all day yesterday and forced a synch with the atomic clock at 6:39 PM. It worked flawlessly and caught a 'L3' signal even in the hills where I live. Last night I put it on my desk and at 12:04 this morning it re-synched automatically. This is a truly outstanding watch. I am wearing it again this morning and probably will all weekend. BTW... this kind of watch is usually not my style. I have worn mechanical Swiss watches for years; mostly automatics. This is my 3rd G-Shock and is my favorite by leaps and bounds. Great watch. Update... After a little over 2 weeks I can say that this is the best digital watch I've ever owned. It rarely leaves my wrist. I wear it to work, the gym, hiking... everywhere. When I don't feel it necessary to put on a 'dress' watch, this is what I wear. The buttons are easy to push. The dial is easy to read. It's incredibly functional... and great looking! Again, the absolute highest recommendations.
Outstanding Watch! This is a large, good looking, solar-atomic watch. The Casio Waveceptor body is titanium so it will be light as air on your wrist. You can wear this precision instrument without fear of breaking it. Excellent construction. This baby is built to last. The feature I like best is when fully charged, it will run for about 9 months without additional exposure to sunlight. The other solar watches I researched all required almost daily sun exposure or you face the proposition of early battery failure. With the additional benefit of owning an atomic watch, you will enjoy superb time accuracy. Try it - you'll like it! Two thumbs up.

Set up issue Pretty watch. One minor annoyance. I cannot change the Japanese character that shows the day. No matter how much I try, I cannot get it done. The manual is not easy to follow. After viewing the manual online, I followed the instructions, and managed to change the date from Japanese to English. After pressing and holding button A, press C until you see flashing date in Japanese. Then, press D to change it. As I said before, the manual is not easy. But, after many failed attempts you can figure it out.
I totally agree with Jim K. and his review I also normally don't write product reviews, but I feel obligated to do so because I appreciated this watch so much. I bought a Tissot digital watch 5 months before I bought this Casio. Since Casio is much cheaper, I was going to wear it for sports such as mountain biking and swimming. But after a few weeks using the Casio, I love it so much that I don't use other watches anymore. I didn't think the Wave-ceptor feature is reliable or useful. But I totally changed my mind after using it. Having a watch that is accurate to the second all the time is a real pleasure. The Wave-ceptor feature works really well. The manual is small and has room for improvement. The setup is actually not that hard except time zone and daylight saving time. This is a rare product that is with good quality, inexpensive, and functioning well.
Fantastic watch and great value! This watch was exactly what i was looking for. Low cost, no batteries to replace, and atomic clock accuracy. The quality is great for the price. It's very comfortable to wear. I prefer this watch to all of my other watches that cost 8 times more.
